There are many ways you can contribute to CurriculumWiki, but the most important way is by creating an activity. The usefulness of CurriculumWiki depends entirely on the quality and quantity of activities contributed by educators like you. This tutorial walks you through three different ways to create an activity. So go ahead... it's easier than you think!

Hint: You can open a new web browser window to create an activity and leave this window opened to this Help page. In Internet Explorer, you can open a new window by pressing and holding ctrl and then pressing the n key. In Safari, you can open a new window by pressing command-n or a new tab by pressing command-t.

Adapt an existing activity

Click on the "edit" tab of the activity you want to adapt.



Right-click in the text box and "select all" text.



When all text in the box is selected, right-click again to "copy" the text.



Return to the Home page, enter a descriptive title for your activity in the "start a new activity" form, and click on the "New Page" button.



Right-click in the text box and "copy" the existing activity into the new page. Click on the "Save page" button at the bottom left of the page. The existing activity is now saved into a new page. Click on the "edit" tab again to begin adapting the activity for your students.

Create a new activity from a template

Review the curriculum design frameworks that are available as templates. Follow the links to the original creators of the designs for more information. Then select a template from the list.



When you have selected a template, follow the directions provided on the template page to create a new activity based on that curriculum design framework. From this point, the process is essentially the same as adapting an existing activity.

Create a new activity from a blank page

If you are an experienced CurriculumWiki contributor and you do not want to use a template or want to create your own template, you can create a new activity from a blank page. Enter the title of your activity in the form provided and click on the "New Page" button.
