Math Problem Solving Template

Most problem solving processes in mathematics are based on George Pólya's celebrated book, How To Solve It. The Four Step Plan (Explore, Plan, Solve, and Examine) is a version of the method that is simplified for elementary students. Use this template to create a Math Problem Solving activity of your very own. The template incorporates both the original and simplified versions. Of course, you may modify your activity to use one version or the other.

How can I use the template?

  1. Read all instructions before you begin.
  2. Copy the line of code from the box under the horizontal line below.
  3. Think of a title that describes the activity you plan to create.
  4. Type your title in the form below and click on the "New Page" button.
  5. Paste the code into the new page and click on the "Save" button at the bottom of the page.
  6. Use the "edit" tab at the top of the page to create your math problem solving activity!
